Using widgets: access, mounting, rules and disabling

A widget must be mounted and enabled in the right work or chat. Saving a favorite, buying access and mounting it are different actions; start with one simple widget.

Open the widget center

Facts reviewed:

1. Find a widget and read its intended use

Open the widget center from settings or the widget area in the chat model panel. Review the author, description, preview and supported target: content, status area, floating interface or styling.

A preview is an example. Real output depends on data, mode and placement. Favoriting a widget does not mount it.

2. Check access and purchase scope

If a price is shown, check the target work and scope before confirming. The purchase flow may require selecting a character work; do not assume that one purchase grants permanent use across all works.

If payment status is unclear, inspect records instead of paying again. Follow availability and permission notices; free or permanent access is not promised.

3. Mount in the right place and enable it

Authors use component management in the character editor to choose the widget, target, position and enabled state. Readers should distinguish chat-local mounts from changes to a work.

Start with one widget and simple conditions, then test a new message. A styling widget needs a supported styling target; not every widget is a message-bubble add-on.

4. Check rules, limits and versions

Keyword or conditional rules may intentionally prevent a widget from appearing. Targets may limit how many mounts can be enabled; adjust existing mounts before adding duplicates.

Enable widgets one at a time and compare history with new messages. Version, access and the chat’s blocking switch can affect results; author changes and local preferences are stored separately.

5. Troubleshoot visibility or interference

Check access and purchase scope, work/chat, target, enabled state, conditions and “Disable all mounted widgets” in that order. The chat-level switch blocks mounted widgets in history and subsequent messages.

Disable the newest widget first, keep configuration evidence and contact its author or support. Never enter passwords, verification codes or session keys. Writing widget scripts is an advanced author task, not a prerequisite for using widgets.

Frequently asked questions

Why is a purchased or favorited widget missing from chat?

Access and favorites do not mount a widget. Check the right work or chat, placement, enabled state and trigger rules, plus the chat-level switch that blocks all mounted widgets.
