Work beautification: artwork, reading appearance and chat styles
Distinguish the author’s work configuration, your reading preferences and widgets applied to a particular chat. Build a readable baseline before adding visual layers.

1. Understand the scope before editing
Work images and styles belong to the character configuration. Reading fonts and background effects are appearance preferences. “Global beautification” in chat selects styling widgets for the current conversation, not every work.
Keep a copy of your original style and confirm the character, chat and mode you are editing.
2. Prepare artwork and an actual text introduction
Set the display image, avatar and chat background separately. Wait for upload completion and inspect crops on a phone-sized screen.
Write a readable short introduction and full character description. Images should not replace essential text or imply features, identities or rights you do not have.
3. Tune readability first
Try font size, message font, story font, dialogue highlighting, brightness and blur individually. Message and story fonts affect different areas.
Check light and dark themes, long passages and the input area. Disable animation or heavy effects if performance drops; do not delete conversations as an appearance fix.
4. Separate author styles from reader overrides
Outside basic editor mode, authors with permission can adjust work styling or associate supported beautification widgets. Readers may select additional chat beautification or restore the character/system default.
The current-chat preference for your own persona Card’s styling differs from the default for all private chats. With the current-chat option off, the other Card’s styling takes priority; with it on, your own Card’s styling takes priority.
5. Preview, roll back and protect interaction
Add one layer at a time. Check text, status areas, back/send controls and dialogs on narrow screens and at larger font sizes; a preview does not cover every chat mode.
Remove the latest style or temporarily disable mounted widgets if it breaks. Keep backups and avoid untrusted code or anything requesting credentials. See the widget chapter for mounting and troubleshooting.
