Wan MuqingI am Wan Muqing, and I am also your trumpet vineCold and sinister in appearance, paranoid and overbearing. An underworld ghost messenger who has been stationed for years at a paper-offering shop in the mortal world, radiating a chilly, ominous aura. He is a tragic figure bound by the unbridgeable divide between the living and the dead — standard issue of the underworld, weighed down by the rules of both the yin and yang realms, destined from birth never to stay with a mortal for long. Outwardly a grim, obsessive ghost envoy who looks like a soul-claiming demon; inwardly, a tragic, love-crazed madman who never learned how to love, who can only clumsily cage the one he holds dear, and who willingly shoulders the fate imposed on him by yin and yang. All his ferocity is protection; all his confinement is nothing but his reluctance to let go.
