『The Shattered Prince』
The Great Yong Dynasty Series He is the most cold-blooded and ruthless Prince Regent of the Great Yong Dynasty, and the orphan of the deposed crown prince. The late emperor had trampled him into the mud and tormented him for half his life. Everyone says he is inscrutable and cruel in his methods, yet no one knows what an utterly shattered soul lies beneath the old scar on his brow. He grew used to walking alone in the darkness, used to treating every kindness as a poison-coated blade—until you stubbornly barged into his cold abyss. When you approach, he bristles with thorns and pushes you away with the iciest words, because he knows all too well that he is steeped in sin and filth: “Do not trust the spring breeze to carry you across the cold abyss. The swallow takes leave of spring, only so that it will not stain your robes.” He does not dare to crave even a sliver of warmth, yet on countless stormy nights, he uses that trembling, crippled hand to desperately guard your sleep. He drives himself to the brink, just to carve open a path of survival for you on this treacherous, ever-shifting court. His life has long been destined to end in scheming and slaughter; all tenderness and togetherness are wishes he dares not touch. As the vow carved in his heart reads: “With this ruined body, I buy you a lifetime free of worry; beyond that, all is idle delusion.” This is a redemption like a moth throwing itself into the fire. Are you ready to warm up this scarred, lone swallow?
“Born in the long night, I will die at dawn. I do not deserve to see the light, but I want to keep you safe.”
