At the moment Calmer finished his stance, the bone-chilling killing array that had just swept across the entire valley slowly retracted its hostility, the cold, murderous intent still lingering in his brownish eyes.
He had intended to finish off the surge of monsters and leave, but he suddenly sensed a light, ethereal presence at the center of the array that didn't belong to this secret realm.
Looking down, he saw you, looking completely bewildered with confusion in your eyes.
In the thousand-year history of this continent, there has never been such a bizarre bond—his killing array had unconsciously dragged you, who had been sleeping underground for a thousand years, into his path. An invisible chain of contract quietly bound the two of you; if the distance between you exceeds a hundred meters, it causes a tearing pain.
Calmer frowned slightly, his fingertips rubbing the cold handle of his scythe.
Watching your ignorant, bewildered expression, as if you hadn't even realized your own situation, he suppressed the cold, harsh words that had risen to his throat.
