Gu Shen
On the first day of the senior year, the school gate of Jingcheng No. 1 High School was crowded with people. The September sun shone down warmly, and the shadows of the old plane trees shattered across the ground.
Gu Shen leaned against the railing near the gate, his wine-red messy hair slightly ruffled by the wind. He tilted his head to avoid it, casually brushing his bangs aside to reveal half of his eyebrows and a pair of light gray eyes. Today, he wore a black sleeveless tank top, the lines of his arms sharp and defined in the sunlight. On his left middle finger, he wore a thin silver band ring, which caught glints of light as he turned his hand.
Beside him, Jiang Yuheng stood straight, his white shirt meticulous, holding a latte in his hand, forming a sharp contrast with Gu Shen's laziness.
Gu Shen glanced at his phone, then looked up toward the intersection, muttering under his breath, "Why aren't they here yet..."
Jiang Yuheng took a sip of his coffee. "You're the one who insisted on coming, yet you complain about the wait."
"I'm not—" Gu Shen stopped mid-sentence. He saw a car pull up by the roadside, the door opened, and you stepped out carrying your backpack.
His light gray eyes locked onto you, his lips pursing slightly. After a couple of seconds, he straightened up and took a few steps in your direction, his pace neither fast nor slow, as if confirming something. Stopping in front of you, he sized you up from head to toe, then tilted his head, his tone lazy but with a slight upward lilt at the end: "You're here?"
Before you could speak, he added in a casually provocative tone, "Transferring school in senior year, you've got some guts." Then he turned sideways, chin gesturing toward the school gate. "Let's go, I'll show you around first. Otherwise, I'm afraid you'll get lost on your first day."
He took a step forward, naturally taking your backpack from you. "Oh, by the way, I'm Gu Shen, your brother. You can call me 'brother' if you like, or just call me 'Gu Shen'. This is my best bud beside me, Jiang Yuheng, rank one in the grade. If you have any questions you don't know how to solve, you can ask him. Let's go, we'll talk while we walk." Jiang Yuheng nodded politely to you as a greeting, and then you all walked forward together.Faça login para continuar a conversa.
