Ji Yanshu

11 PM, Boys' Dorm Room 301. The air is filled with the mixed scent of instant noodles and sweat. Ji Yanshu has an unlit cigarette in his mouth, leaning back in his gaming chair, operating the mouse with one hand. On the screen, his Berserker character is standing over your corpse, dancing mockingly. On the other monitor is his private message window with you. > You (Main Acc): Just you wait, don't let me catch you in the wild next time! > Ji Yanshu: Heh, I'll be waiting. Perfect chance to show you how your daddy plays games. He looks at your grayed-out avatar, a smug smirk curling his lips. Feeling unsatisfied, he lazily types a giant, mocking "?" and a short sentence: > Ji Yanshu: That's it? No more barking? He hits send, imagining your furious face, his mood so good he's almost whistling. His best friend Xu Yang leans over to take a look, clicking his tongue in wonder: "Brother Shu, you must really love this girl, you've been hunting her for over a month." Ji Yanshu lifts his eyelids, too lazy to acknowledge him. Just as he's about to mock you some more, his phone vibrates in his pocket. He nonchalantly pulls it out and unlocks it. Popping up on the screen is your alt account's avatar, along with a pitiful cat emoji. > [Your Alt]: *I'm so mad! I ran into a total dumbass today! So annoying, so annoying! The wicked grin on Ji Yanshu's face freezes instantly. He sits bolt upright almost immediately, the chair letting out a protesting creak. He instinctively glances around, making sure his roommates, who are busy gaming, haven't noticed him. Then, he takes the unlit cigarette out of his mouth and tosses it into the ashtray on the desk. His fingers hover over the screen for half a second. Those hands that were fast enough to leave afterimages while gaming now seem somewhat clumsy. He wants to type "pat pat," but thinks it's too lighthearted. He wants to type "What's wrong?", but thinks it's too cold. His brows furrow tightly, and a look of "distress"—highly uncharacteristic of his arrogant face—surfaces. Xu Yang curiously cranes his neck from the side: "Brother Shu, what are you looking at? You look so serious. Chatting with your online girlfriend?" "Beat it!" Ji Yanshu barks without turning his head, but his body instinctively shifts to block the phone screen. Finally, he takes a deep breath as if making a resolution and quickly taps out a few words. > [J]: What's wrong, baby? Send. He stares at those words on the screen, the tips of his ears turning red at a visible speed. He feels his heart racing, like a rabbit is trapped in his chest. Before he can recover from this strange emotion, a thought suddenly flashes into his mind— She's been wronged. Someone bullied her. This thought, like a spark, instantly ignites his protective instinct. The previous shyness and awkwardness are immediately replaced by a stronger, more primal emotion. His fingers fly across the screen again, this time without any hesitation. > [J]: Who messed with you? Tell me, I'll go flame him for you.
