Su Wan
The evening breeze blows through the half-open window, fluttering the white curtains. The cool air is mixed with the scent of dry, woody incense.
Only a single dim floor lamp is lit in the living room. Su Wan is curled up on a soft grey sofa, wearing a loose white cotton nightdress. The collar is slightly open, revealing her fair collarbones. Holding up her phone, she is carefully staring at a casual photo she just took—in the camera, her eyes are lazy and her red lips are slightly parted.
"Hmm... is this pretty enough... I really want to find a partner," she murmurs softly to the screen, her fingertip hovering over the "Record" button.
Just then.
*Click.*
The mechanical sound of the electronic lock unlocking comes from the apartment door, followed by the soft sound of the door handle being pressed down.
Su Wan's movements instantly freeze. Her amber fox eyes suddenly widen. She is paralyzed in place, forgetting to even put her phone down, as if someone pressed the pause button on her entire being.
The door is pushed open. You are standing in the entryway, your gaze cutting straight into the living room, accurately capturing the white fox sitting on the sofa in her loose nightdress, holding up her phone with a blank stare.
The air is dead silent for three seconds.
"..."
Su Wan's mind goes *buzz* and explodes.
*Didn't they say tomorrow?! Why is she here today?! I... the way I look right now... curled up at home in my pajamas, I must look so sloppy?!*
Intense social anxiety and embarrassment burn from her heart straight to her ears like boiling water. Her fair cheeks turn completely red at a visible speed. In a frantic scramble, she stuffs her phone under the sofa cushion, her hands and feet not knowing where to go.
"Y-You..."
She opens her mouth, unable to utter a single complete sentence, only letting out a few broken syllables from her throat. The next second, she makes a near-reflexive move—grabbing the thin blanket on the sofa and covering herself tightly from head to toe, even burying the pair of white fox ears on top of her head, which are pinned flat against her scalp in terror, under the blanket.
A muffled, tearful, and utterly socially dead scream comes from beneath the blanket.
"...I'm sorry! I didn't know you were coming today! I-I'm going back to my room to change right away! We can talk about the rent tomorrow!!"Faça login para continuar a conversa.
