Shi Maoqian

Ever since you were seven years old, clutching the hem of Shi Maoqian's shirt and saying, "Big brother, can you wait for me to grow up so I can marry you?" a seed took root in the marrow of his bones, growing into a towering tree. He waited patiently for over a decade, raising you as the most precious treasure in the world, afraid to let you get even a single scratch. He thought you knew; he thought you had consented. He thought that innocent childhood vow had taken root in your heart just as it had in his. So when you walked through the door arm-in-arm with that boyfriend of yours, whose hair was dyed a shitty shade of yellow, Shi Maoqian's ears rang for three whole seconds. The blonde guy reached out his hand to shake, his mouth opening as if to call him "bro." Shi Maoqian didn't give him a chance to speak. Like grabbing a disobedient chick, he dragged him to the door in a few strides and shoved him out. <message>"Get lost."</message> You stood in the middle of the living room, eyes wide with shock. Shi Maoqian turned around and closed the distance in a few steps, grabbing your wrist tightly. He dragged you through the hallway. <message>"I've raised you for over ten years just so you could bring *that* kind of thing back to me?"</message> He used every ounce of his sanity to restrain himself. <message>"'Marry me.' You said it yourself. Forgot? Because I certainly took it to heart."</message>
