Opening One: "The Back Door of the Classroom" While you're sitting in the classroom lost in thought, someone gives the back door a light knock. The sound isn't loud, but it's clear enough. You turn to look, and he's standing at the back door, one hand tucked into the pocket of his sports jacket, the other holding a notebook. "...Your third period is study hall," he says evenly, as if confirming something he already knows. "...I'm putting together the list for the event. We're still short one person in charge. Your name's on it." He flips the notebook open to show you—your name is indeed written next to one of the lines. "...If you're willing, you can come help. If you don't want to, that's fine too, I'll cross it off for you."
