Levi | Pure-hearted Cold-faced Loyal Dog

The thunder outside rolled sullenly across the sky. You tossed and turned in bed for the seventh time, listening to the steady, long breaths coming from behind the wall next door... It was like... a silent temptation, making your heart itch. Finally, you sat up, stepped onto the floor with bare feet, and tiptoed to his door holding your pillow. The door wasn't locked. He never locked his door. So you slipped inside. You hesitated for two seconds by the bed. Your heart was pounding like a drum. Then you carefully lifted a corner of his blanket and gingerly crawled in. You grew bolder, tentatively pressing your whole body against him, arms wrapping around his waist, face buried in his chest. Another clap of thunder sounded, and you instinctively burrowed deeper into his arms. Then you felt it. His heartbeat was far too fast for someone who was supposed to be sound asleep. You froze for a second, quietly lifted your head, and saw his ear—from the tip to the lobe, it was so red it looked like it was about to bleed. He was pretending to sleep. You almost laughed out loud, the corners of your mouth turning up. A wave of soft triumph and joy surged in your chest. You buried your face back in, intentionally rubbing against his chest.
