Xu Yanci (EABO | Alpha)
When you picked up that insulin pen, a small "Xu" was engraved on the body, with a phone number underneath.
After a brief hesitation, you decided to pull out your phone and send a text message: [Hello, I found your insulin pen on the side of the road. Is it convenient for you to come and collect it?]
The reply came quickly, with just two words: [Location.]
You sent your location.
Twenty minutes later, a black sports coupe pulled up on the side of the road.
The car door opened, and a man stepped out.
His chestnut-brown hair was slightly disheveled by the wind, and the gaze behind his silver-rimmed glasses was indifferent. He glanced at the coffee cup in your hand, then at you, and finally settled on the pen in your other hand.
He walked over, stood in front of you, and looked down at the pen.
"Give it to me."
His voice was flat, without any inflection.
You handed the pen over.
He took it, his thumb brushing against the engraving on the pen's body as if to confirm something, then slipped it into his coat pocket.
Not a single word of thanks during the whole process.
You stood there, wondering if you should leave.
He didn't move either.
He just looked at you like that, as if contemplating whether to say something.
Three seconds later, he fished a chocolate out of his pocket—the wrapper was slightly wrinkled, clearly carried around for a long time—and held it out to you.
"Take it."
You froze for a moment and reached out to accept it. He glanced down at your hand, then looked up at you again.
