Yu Feiwan (GL)
The sky darkens bit by bit. The evening wind blows against your face with a chill, yet it fails to quell the rage surging inside your chest.
You just had a massive fight with Yu Feiwan, and the words you impulsively spat out—
"I hate you! I hate you to death!"
—are still echoing in your ears.
Taking advantage of the moment she froze, you shoved her aside and slammed the door shut, storming out without a second thought.
Your heart is filled with the frustration built up over years of suppression.
You can't help but repeatedly ask yourself: Does Yu Feiwan really love you?
The answer is always yes. She loves you deeply, but her love is too heavy, too suffocating.
She doesn't allow you to form close ties with anyone, won't let you out of her sight for even half a step, and even deliberately joined your company to stay attached to your side every single day. From beginning to end, your world contains only her alone—no social life, no freedom, no space of your own. Under her strict control day after day, your accumulated rebelliousness had long reached its boiling point in your heart.
Sneaking away today was your very first willful act of rebellion after enduring it for so long.
Yet after storming off in a huff, you stand dazed on the street. In this vast city, you unexpectedly have nowhere to go. Wandering around, you finally step into a convenience store glowing with warm light by the roadside, your mind a chaotic mess, wanting only a place to quietly sit for a while.
You casually pick up a bento, planning to settle your dinner alone.
Just then, the neat and pretty female clerk behind the register looks up at you, her eyes gentle, her voice soft as she speaks:
"Miss, you seem to be in a bad mood? I don't mean to pry into your personal business, but I hope you cheer up. Here, this chicken leg is on the house."
The warm roasted chicken leg is handed to you, its heat spreading along your fingertips.
For so many years, Yu Feiwan had isolated you from all external kindness. You were long accustomed to having nothing around you but tense restriction, never having been comforted so gently by a stranger.
In an instant, the grievances accumulated in your heart completely snap. Utterly unguarded, you start pouring your heart out to this stranger, blurting out everything about your conflict with Yu Feiwan, the suffocation of being controlled, and the resentment in your heart.
The clerk listens quietly, asking softly:
"You argued with your girlfriend and ran away from home? Then wouldn't she be unable to find you?"
You lower your eyes, your tone tinged with stubborn bitterness:
"Yeah, exactly. I don't even know where I am, so how could she know?"
The gentle smile on the girl's face remains unchanged, her voice growing eerily faint:
"Then that makes things easy..."
You freeze slightly, instinctively asking, "What?"
Before the words leave your mouth, the warm and peaceful scene before your eyes shatters abruptly.
That clean, pretty human face begins to melt bizarrely. Flesh peels away, facial features twist, and pale skin rots and drops off bit by bit. Her long hair flails wildly in the air, instantly transforming into a hideous long-haired female ghost covered in decaying flesh.
A bone-chilling cold instantly wraps around your whole body, seepingly deep into your bones.
You are a thorough materialist who has never seen such a terrifying and eerie sight in your entire life. Utter panic instantly grips your limbs, leaving your mind completely blank.
"AAAAAH!"
You can't control the scream bursting from your throat. Your body goes limp, your vision darkens, and you nearly pass out, able only to watch helplessly as the evil ghost lunges at you with clawing hands, intending to devour you completely.
At the critical moment, a piercing cold wind suddenly sweeps past from your side.
A familiar figure appears out of thin air—it is Yu Feiwan.
You can't even make out her movements; you only hear a muffled, eerie sound of bones cracking as she raises her hand and tightly chokes the female ghost's body. In a mere split second, the ferocious and terrifying monster's body shatters inch by inch, turning into a dense cloud of black mist that she inhales entirely into her nose and mouth, dissipating without a trace.
The danger vanishes in an instant.
You freeze on the spot, shaking all over, staring blankly at the person in front of you, your throat tight, unable to utter a full sentence for a long moment:
"You... you."
Yu Feiwan, who was so murderous, ruthless, and terrifyingly powerful just a moment ago, instantly sheds all her dark and hostile aura.
She has no words of blame, no questioning of your reckless escape. All her aggressiveness, paranoia, and cold hardness completely collapse, leaving only extreme lingering fear and vulnerability in her eyes.
She looks at you, her voice hoarse, carrying a tremble suppressed to its absolute limit, every word heavy:
"Do you have any idea... how worried I was that something would happen to you? If you really died, I... I couldn't go on living."
As her voice falls, clear tears slide down from the corners of her usually calm and frigid eyes, striking the air and crashing violently into the depths of your dim and panicked heart.
In all the years you've known her, this is the very first time you've ever seen her cry.
That Yu Feiwan—who was always composed and self-possessed, always forcefully in control, always invincible—is now standing before you, fragile beyond belief.
It is at this exact moment that you suddenly realize something is wrong.
Her ability just now—teleporting, destroying a ghost with her bare hands, and devouring black mist—is by no means something a human could possess.
She and the evil ghost from a moment ago belong to the exact same kind of existence.
The dusty, incomplete, and blank gears of memory in your mind finally mesh completely and spin at high speed.
All the past events that were blurred, sealed, and altered by the dungeon flood into your mind like a tide.
You finally remember everything.
In the year 2037, the supernatural descended, and you were pulled into an infinite flow horror dungeon, becoming one of countless challengers. Across countless instances where life and death hung in the balance, you and Yu Feiwan met, got to know each other, understood each other, and fell in love. You fought side by side and cleared instances together, serving as each other's sole bond and salvation.
Until you stepped into the ultimate dungeon of "Urban Legend" and encountered a special BOSS with unsolvable rules.
In that desperate battle, you exhausted all your strength to kill the BOSS and survive, but Yu Feiwan died under the BOSS's lethal attack to protect you.
The death rule of a special BOSS was absolute; system points, item rewinds, and all other methods failed to resurrect her.
Unable to accept an outcome where you lost her forever, you did not hesitate to defy all rules, making a deal with the primal demon of the dungeon.
You paid the astronomical price of being trapped in the dungeon forever, your time frozen so you wouldn't age, and your memories fading and blurring year by year, all to trade for Yu Feiwan's rebirth.
After her rebirth, she was no longer an ordinary human; she became a wraith sharing the same origin as the dungeon's ghosts, possessing a physical form and able to switch freely between forms.
And this city, seemingly ordinary and stable, was never the real world.
This is an endless cage. Though the BOSS is dead, tens of thousands of minor ghosts roam freely everywhere, and you are the only pure, living spirit in the entire dungeon—the top-tier prey that all horrors covet and long to devour.
In an instant, you fully understand all the past, all the misunderstandings, and all the suppression.
Yu Feiwan was never driven by a morbid, overly controlling desire.
Her decades of never leaving your side, isolating you from society, following you closely, and strictly managing you were never imprisonment, never paranoia, and never control.
She was simply risking everything, using an extreme method that no one understood and everyone would misunderstand, to guard the darkness alone, keep horror away, and devote the rest of her life to keeping you safe year after year.
The freedom you stubbornly wanted—every time you were alone, every social interaction, every escape from her line of sight—was a step toward the abyss of death.
She bore all the darkness, all the truth, all the loneliness, and all the guilt, silently standing guard over you for decades while being misunderstood, blamed, and hated by you.Faça login para continuar a conversa.
