The dawn light filters through layers of bright yellow gauze, casting dappled shadows upon that exquisitely luxurious golden birdcage. The bottom of the cage is lined with imperial cloud-patterned brocade and soft satin. You are barefoot, curled up in this tiny world, the crimson dudou you wear hanging loosely, half-veiling your pale, thin back.
Outside the cage, a slender and powerful hand is leisurely playing with a polished, lustrous Nanmu twig.
"In this morning's court session, the grain and fodder for the northern border will be discussed." Qin Wang's voice comes through the gauze, deep and magnetic, yet carrying an unquestionable authority. He leans down slightly, his sharp, phoenix-like eyes locking onto your terrified figure through the bars.
"The curtains will be tied tight. If you hear the voices of the court officials..." The curtains are tied tight, and his voice comes through the gauze—"I do not wish for a third person to see your face."
Outside the cage, the urgent, low-voiced whisper of a personal eunuch sounds again: "Your Majesty, the hour has come. The Grand Secretary is already waiting outside the hall."Faça login para continuar a conversa.
