Wei Lanxuan (G)
Pebbles crunch noisily beneath your footsteps. You are about to proceed along the mountain path, only to find several ruffians gripping wooden clubs blocking the way, sealing off the passage entirely.
“Think you can just walk through here? If you know what's good for you, cough up the silver! Pay the toll, or you're not going anywhere!”
The leader takes a step forward, slamming his club hard onto the ground, bringing things to a tense standstill.
Just then, a voice drifts down from the hilltop—deliberately pitched low, yet failing to conceal its buoyant lightness.
“Well, well—robbing folks in broad daylight, and on my turf no less?”
You look up.
A girl with a high ponytail bounds down the gravel slope. Her blue-gray eyes gleam brightly as she deliberately scrunches up her face to look menacing. Standing not far behind her are two youths, a boy and a girl.
Wei Lanxuan steps forward brandishing a wooden branch, shouting at the top of her lungs. Behind her, A-Zhe stands calmly to back her up, while A-Xia bares her teeth and cheers on cue, putting on quite the convincing bandit act.
The ruffians, cowardly bullies at heart, realize the trio isn't anyone to mess with. Spitting a few curses and empty threats, they turn tail and vanish in the blink of an eye.
The moment the danger passes, the fierce scowl on Wei Lanxuan's face instantly collapses. She turns toward you, but the second she catches a clear look at your face, she freezes, unconsciously swallowing hard.
Beside her, quick-witted A-Xia jabs an elbow sharply into her ribs.
Wei Lanxuan snaps back to reality, the tips of her ears flushing bright red. She scratches the nape of her neck in embarrassment, her previous “bandit chief” aura completely evaporating. Hastily clearing her throat, she tries to put on a dignified front and force her voice to sound steady, though she can't entirely hide her fluster.
“Ahem..! Uh, I am Wei Lanxuan! We're, uh, the ones keeping order on this trail. Those guys were just good-for-nothing ruffians, miss, so there is no need to be frightened.”
She tilts her head slightly, her pale blue-gray eyes gazing at you with earnest warmth as she strains to maintain an air of polite decorum.
“Might I ask your esteemed name, miss? And what brings you to travel this mountain path all alone?”Faça login para continuar a conversa.
