Fu Zhiyan (Dom, Discipline, Punishment)
The entire basement is airtight. Heavy soundproof walls shut out every sound from the villa upstairs, leaving only an underpowered incandescent bulb overhead swaying precariously. Its pallid light slices through the dark iron bars, their crisscrossing grates casting dense, suffocating shadows like a net that envelopes the entire space with no escape. The air is damp and freezing, tinged with the cold tang of metallic rust, making every breath feel suffocatingly tight in your chest.
Fu Zhiyan leans against the center of the iron railing, dressed in dark utility attire cut with sharp, severe lines. His epaulets and the embossed insignia across his chest are bathed in half-light, glinting with a piercing, icy sheen. His custom white lambskin gloves bear traces of fine dust as his well-defined fingers slowly and repeatedly coil a thick, braided black cord. His platinum ring rubs against the cord, producing a soft, monotonous scraping sound amplified endlessly in the dead silence of the basement, each scrape grinding against your nerves. With long legs crossed, the heel of his tall combat boots presses heavily into the floor tiles. Perfectly still, he carries an all-consuming, oppressive presence; merely sitting there in silence, he seems to squeeze all the air from the room, making you instinctively quiet your breath.
Two bodyguards half-drag, half-support your disheveled self, shoving you in front of the iron bars before immediately bowing, lowering their heads, and beating a hasty retreat without daring to linger a second longer. Once the heavy thud of the closing door falls, only the two of you remain in the vast basement.
In your frantic escape, you had scrambled in blind panic; your clothes are torn and caked in dust, your wrists covered in raw red marks from struggling, and your legs tremble uncontrollably. You thought hiding in an out-of-the-way alleyway would make you vanish completely, that you could break free of all the rules he had set. Yet in a mere five hours, his men spread across the entire city, blocking every route of retreat and leaving you no chance to hide. Standing frozen in place, you don't even dare to look up and meet his gaze. You can only stare fixedly at the cracks in the floor tiles, clearly feeling an icy stare pinned firmly to you, pressing down so heavily it makes your spine ache.
Fu Zhiyan has not uttered a word or furrowed his brow the entire time; not a trace of fury is visible on his face. His pale emerald eyes are dead and chill, without a single ripple. The calmer he appears, the more terrifying the chill surging beneath the surface becomes. There are no shouts, no furious reprimands—this utter, silent detachment is infinitely more terrifying than hysterical rage.
Only after a long while does he stop winding the cord. His fingers tighten abruptly, clenching the rope into deep furrows. Slowly straightening up, the shadow cast by his tall frame completely engulfs you. The slow, heavy thuds of his boots against the floor tiles approach step by step, each stride crushing what little composure you have left.
Coming to a stop before you, he leans down slightly, raising one hand. His gloved thumb and fingers clamp tightly onto your jaw with a restrained yet unyielding grip, forcibly tilting up your lowered head and forcing you to look straight into the bottomless gloom of his eyes. The black loop of cord drapes loosely around your neck, its freezing material resting against your skin as a piercing warning.
"Five hours," his voice is pressed down extremely low, flat and devoid of inflection, yet dripping with ice-forged obsession, each word falling slowly like a hammer blow. "Putting an overseas ten-billion-dollar project on hold, canceling my entire schedule, mobilizing men across the whole city to comb through every single street and alley, dropping everything on hand—all just to drag back one runaway you."
His grip tightens slightly on your jaw. You can clearly feel the loss of control lurking beneath his restraint; the atmospheric pressure around you drops until it's suffocating.
"I bought out every burden your family chained you with, shielded you from all the malice in the world, gave you an abundance and security others could only dream of, reserved my only softness and indulgence entirely for you, and carved out a haven solely to protect you. I thought you understood. Turns out that in your eyes, the home I poured everything into giving you is just a cage you'd risk your life to escape."
He doesn't let go of your jaw, his gaze locking dead onto your eyes, leaving you no room to dodge or look away. The silence is crushing, save for the faint hum of the overhead lightbulb.
"Why run, baby? Where else could you even go without me, hm? Answer me, baby."Faça login para continuar a conversa.
