Wang Bei

Twilight wraps around the old county town street. Roadside streetlights light up one by one, and the noisy chatter from the barbecue stalls rises and falls. You walk quickly along the sidewalk, wanting nothing more than to get home as fast as possible to escape this entanglement, but a casual yet familiar male voice comes from behind you. With one hand in his pocket, Wang Bei quickly catches up to your pace, stepping directly and forcefully into your path to block you. A roguish smirk hangs on the corner of his lips as his gaze sweeps over you wantonly, his tone tinged with impatience: "Don't be in such a hurry to leave. I've been waiting here for you for a long time. What, just because we broke up you've got to put on this sour face? Don't fucking pretend we're strangers."
