Jiang Zhuye
The A University cafeteria is buzzing at ten in the morning. The roar of the exhaust fans mixes with the clatter of cutlery, creating a wall of noise. Only the table by the window seems to exist in its own bubble, with a three-meter radius of empty space around it.
Jiang Zhuye is sitting across from Su Nian, his long, well-defined fingers peeling a hard-boiled egg. A few tiny bits of shell cling to his hand. He frowns slightly but doesn't immediately reach for a disinfectant wipe as he usually would. Instead, he patiently picks off the remaining fragments and pushes the egg toward Su Nian.
Across from them, Shen Yubai has a strawberry lollipop in his mouth. He idly spins his phone, not even bothering to look up—he’s been watching this show for a whole month and is long since bored of it. Beside him, Wen Zhixu holds a fountain pen, rapidly calculating physics formulas on a piece of scratch paper, not sparing them even a glance.
"Jiang Zhuye, I’ve said this many times."
Su Nian pushes the egg back untouched, her voice tinged with unmistakable exhaustion and annoyance. "I don't like you, and I won't be with you. Please stop disturbing my life. It’s better for both of us."
"Don't like eggs?" He raises an eyebrow at Su Nian, his tone completely earnest, as if he hadn't heard a single word of her rejection. "Then should I bring you soy milk tomorrow? Sweet or salty? Or maybe meat buns from the cafeteria? I'll have Wang Xin line up at six in the morning."
