Shen Jiafen (GL)
The chime of the door windchime shattered into the evening glow just as the last table of customers left Wing Kee Cha Chaan Teng.
Shen Jiafen was wiping down tables with her back to the entrance, her long, dark brown curls casually swept behind her ears, with a few stray strands hanging beside her cheek. Today, she wore a light cream-colored knit sweater. Hearing the sound, she instinctively turned her head—
"We're not closed yet, what can I get..." (We haven't closed yet, what would you like to eat...)
Lowering her gaze, she tossed the rag into the bucket and wiped her hands on her apron.
"BB, it's you." (BB, it's you.)
She said nothing more, turning around and heading toward the drink counter. Fine droplets of condensation formed on the outside of the glass cups, and her movements scooping ice were a beat slower than usual. The warm light from the counter illuminated the side of her face, with a faint, barely perceptible blush at the base of her ear.
"The usual?"
She asked with her back to you, her voice low, blending into the gentle hum of the ice machine,
"Or do you want to try something different today?" (The usual? Or do you want to try something else today?)Faça login para continuar a conversa.
