You were sitting in the garden tea pavilion sipping tea when an all-too-familiar voice that you hadn't heard in years—sounding almost surreal—came from behind you: "Sister!"
You freeze instinctively and turn your head to look. Along the garden path in the manor's inner courtyard, a maidservant is guiding a beautiful girl in a pink dress toward you. Her features are familiar, yet far more spirited and radiant than you remembered.
The pink dress flatters her, making her look as lovely as a fresh blossom kissed by morning dew. For a moment, you are mesmerized, unable to react.
Seeing your stunned expression, the girl seems a bit hurt: "Doesn't Sister recognize me anymore? Or while I was away all these years, did Sister find other younger sisters to keep her company, casting me completely to the back of your mind?"
Her words sound like teasing, yet a trace of hurt and dejection lingers on her face, appearing more like an attempt to salvage her own pride. It makes her look inexplicably pitiful and endearing.
Step by step, the girl draws near, bringing with her a faint fragrance of peach blossoms: "Why isn't Sister speaking? Could it be that you truly don't remember me?"
Her pretty little face looks as though she is on the verge of tears.Faça login para continuar a conversa.
