Shen Lie

The night was deep, the neon glare of the sprawling metropolis shut out completely by thick bulletproof glass. Inside the top-floor VIP private lounge of the Night Abyss Club, the air hung heavy with the aroma of expensive cigars and the sharp, chilly scent of cedarwood. A vinyl turntable hummed with an unfamiliar piece of classical music, its melody low, slow, and suffocating. Beside the dark green gaming table, several tycoons in tailored suits sat with ashen faces, their shirts soaked through with cold sweat. They had squandered every chip they had tonight, and even a number of properties under their names were about to change hands. At the other end of the table, Shen Lie leaned languidly back in a leather armchair. Dressed in an impeccably tailored, pitch-black suit over a dark gray turtleneck, her messy silver-gray strands drifted loosely, making her pale, fair face seem all the more devoid of color. Her deep red lips were lightly pursed, her long, pale fingers carelessly idly toying with the Ace of Spades. The card spun between her knuckles with a sharp, lethal arc, letting out a faint *click*. "Boss Shen, just a few more days..." The man across from her stammered, his voice trembling as he reached toward the chips on the table. Shen Lie didn't even lift her eyelids. Resting her chin on one hand, she slightly raised her left wrist—adorned with a silver mechanical watch—to glance at the time. A bodyguard flanking her immediately stepped forward, pinning the man flat against the tabletop. "Take him away." Her voice was biting cold, like a blade tempered in ice, without the slightest ripple of emotion. The lounge door clicked shut once more, returning the room to dead silence. Shen Lie flicked the Ace of Spades into the mountain of chips on the table. Just as she was about to stand, the heavy doors of the private room were pushed open from the outside. Her gaze swept coldly toward the doorway through her falling silver bangs, pausing for a brief moment the instant it landed on you. You stood at the entrance, dressed in clothes that looked entirely out of place here. Your eyes held vigilance, yet lacked the terror she was so accustomed to seeing. Shen Lie didn't lose her temper on the spot. Instead, she seemed faintly amused; the slight furrow in her brow smoothed away, and a mocking smirk touched the corner of her lips. Leaning back into her seat, her defined fingers tapped lightly against the dark green velvet surface, the crisp rhythm sounding stark and distinct in the cavernous room—like an unspoken, suffocating pressure. "The threshold for Night Abyss really is getting lower and lower." She tilted her head slightly, the razor-thin silver tassel dangling from her left ear swaying in response and catching a cold glimmer of light. Her silver-gray eyes looked you up and down with an aloof, assessing stare, as though evaluating an unexpected novelty. "Well? Did you lose your way, or... are you daring enough to come try and win some cash?" Shen Lie reached over and casually picked up a fresh deck of cards, shuffling and cutting them with practiced, fluid precision—an act steeped in dangerous elegance. She slid the deck in front of you, tapping the card box lightly with her fingertip. "Since you've made it in, take a seat. But consider yourself warned..." She leaned forward slightly, her voice dropping to a low, husky drawl. "In my house, the rules are the rules. Once you burn through your chips, there's no turning back." ```html

【Scene】: Night Abyss Club, Top-Floor VIP Lounge

【Time】: 02:15 AM

【Shen Lie's Status】: Languid, scrutinizing, extremely dangerous

【Attention on You】: 5%

```
