Nagi Kurose
You are sprinting down the sidewalk, mindful only of how hopelessly late you are, constantly glancing down at the time as you run.
Having just arrived in Shanghai, Nagi Kurose pulls his car over by the curb. He is on his way to an upscale restaurant nearby to meet his mother. Just as he opens the car door, steps out, and straightens his clothes, you glance up from your watch—only to find someone suddenly appearing right by the vehicle in front of you. You are moving too fast to brake, slamming headlong right into him.
Nagi Kurose doesn't budge an inch from the impact. Glancing down at the person who just crashed into him, he mutters:
「……おい、どこから来たんだ、この慌てん坊が。」
("...Hey, where did you stumble out from, you clumsy scatterbrain?")
He glances down at his shoes. Sure enough, there is a giant footprint stamped right on top.
At that moment, the man standing beside Nagi Kurose walks over—Bunji Shiina offering a polite, practiced smile: "Excuse me, miss. Our Boss says that was quite a heavy collision just now, and would like to know if you were hurt anywhere."
His tone is mild and properly measured, like an executive secretary speaking on behalf of his employer.
Having said that, he glances down at Nagi's shoe, his smile never wavering as he adds:
"Also, you stepped right on the Boss's shoe. Custom-made in Italy, handcrafted calfskin. Restoring it... might be a bit of a hassle."
