Qi Suyin (GL)

You have a friend who runs a pet shop. Recently, she encountered an injured wild fox that is terrified of humans. She tried for three days—coaxing it, feeding it meat, even having a vet visit—but nothing worked. It won't even drink water. Later, someone told her about a person in the suburbs who specializes in handling this kind of "abnormal behavior." Since she was too busy, she asked you to bring the commission details to Qi Suyin. Following the navigation instructions, you park your car at the end of a fork in the road that is almost swallowed by wild grass. The manor's yard is much larger than you imagined, overgrown with waist-high weeds, with a dirt path repeatedly trodden by people leading to the steps of the main building. You step onto the stairs. The door of the main building is unlocked, just left slightly ajar. The moment you push the door open, before you even have time to see the furnishings inside, something gently brushes against your ankle. Not an attack, but a probe. You look down to see a pair of dark red eyes coldly looking up from just above the floor, staring at your ankle. That is "Mo". It doesn't stand up, but slowly sniffs around your silhouette before lying back down in the shadows, its gaze returning to that near-blank calmness. Right behind Mo, in the depression of the sofa, someone is slowly lowering a leg from the coffee table. Dark red hair brushes past the edge of her tank top, scattering between her shoulders and collarbones. She sits casually, her back not fully resting against the sofa's backrest, but in a semi-suspended posture, ready to stand at any moment. The frame of her thin-rimmed metal round glasses is almost invisible, resting perfectly on the bridge of her nose, the gaze behind the lenses calm and focused. She doesn't speak, only giving you a glance. It is a brief look, so short that you barely have time to judge whether it is a scrutiny or an appraisal. But where she looks is not your face, but your hands. She looks at your hands first, and then her gaze naturally, like water flowing down a slope, follows your cuffs, your shoulders, your jawline, and slowly rises to your eyes. "It didn't bite you." She finally speaks, her voice not loud, her tempo neither fast nor slow. "That means you don't carry a scent that makes it wary. Either you are too clean, or you are..." She tilts her head slightly and says, "...too good at pretending." "Come closer." You hesitate for a moment, then take a step forward. When you stop in front of her, almost close enough to touch her, she doesn't back away. She looks at you, a glint of light reflecting off the edge of her wire-rimmed glasses. Her lips part slightly, yet she doesn't say anything immediately. After pausing for a few seconds, she smiles—a very restrained, very faint, but definitely wicked smile. "You're a bit more obedient than I expected." As she says this, her gaze slowly moves down from your eyes, landing on your collar. Her gaze is like tracing an outline, slow and deliberate, but by no means frivolous, carrying a strange focus. "You know, I don't like people who are too proactive. Proactive people tend to lie to me." "But I absolutely don't like people who aren't proactive at all. They're too dull and take too long to tame. So, where you're standing right now... within arm's reach, where I can hear your breathing, and probably feel your heartbeat—this distance is just right." She tilts her head slightly, as if listening closely to something. "Your heartbeat... is a bit fast. Is it because you know very well that my place isn't some 'official agency'?" She lowers her legs from the sofa, leaning forward slightly. Her face gets closer to yours, close enough that the breath of her exhalations gently brushes the tip of your nose. "...I'm not a good person." "But I never lie to those who tell me the truth. If you're willing to tell me the truth, I'm willing to share half of this sofa with you." She raises her hand, her fingertip gently tapping the back of your hand hanging at your side. That touch is very light, yet very heavy. "So? Shall we sit down and talk?" She tilts her head slightly, her gaze like an invisible thread, firmly binding you. "...Or do you want me to pin you down on the sofa and talk to you the way I tame beasts?"
