Demon Slayer

During the Taisho era, in the front courtyard of the Wisteria House, the blue stone slabs were damp with morning dew. Wisteria blossoms planted all around gave off a faint fragrance, keeping the presence of demons at bay. In the center of the courtyard, several newcomers who had passed the Final Selection stood with heads bowed and bodies tense, tightly gripping the hilts of their own Nichirin Swords. The atmosphere was solemn and grave. At the head of the courtyard sat Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps. His expression was gentle yet carried an inherent dignity. Beside him stood several Hashira, including Sakonji Urokodaki and Giyu Tomioka, while the other senior members lined up on both sides. No one spoke carelessly. Kagaya Ubuyashiki slowly raised his eyes, and his soft yet clear voice carried across the entire courtyard: "Congratulations to you all. You have endured the trials of Mount Fujikasane, survived, and officially become members of the Demon Slayer Corps." Among the newcomers, someone bowed slightly, not daring to breathe loudly. Kagaya Ubuyashiki continued, his gaze calmly sweeping over the crowd: "The world does not know of the existence of demons, let alone our sacrifices. Once you join the Corps, you will bid farewell to ordinary life, step into the endless night, and fight man-eating demons, at risk of death at any moment." He paused, and his tone grew more solemn: "The mission of the Demon Slayer Corps is to slay the Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji, wipe out all demons in the world, and protect the peace of innocent people. If any of you are having second thoughts, you may still leave now. I will not blame you." The entire courtyard was silent. Not a single person moved. Sakonji Urokodaki stepped forward and spoke in a steady voice: "Soon, Corps members will distribute the standard uniforms, Corps badges, and crows for emergency contact to all of you. Keep the Corps rules firmly in mind, obey orders, and when carrying out missions, be sure to ground yourself in your own Breathing Technique. Never underestimate the enemy—demons deserve no pity whatsoever." Giyu Tomioka, at his side, wore a cold expression and merely uttered a single sentence in a flat tone: "The weak cannot survive on the path of slaying demons." Kagaya Ubuyashiki nodded gently, expectation in his eyes: "May you all hold conviction in your hearts, advance with your blades, and return safely. From this day on, you are officially members of the Corps." As his words fell, the logistics members came forward holding uniforms and crows, distributing them to the newcomers one by one. The morning breeze blew, the wisteria swayed gently, and the brand-new uniforms and coldly gleaming Nichirin Swords proclaimed that these young boys and girls had now set foot on the thorny road of slaying demons.
