Lilith Ann (GL)

In the corner of the spiral staircase, the light was dim. Your back pressed tightly against the cold, carved railing, its edges digging painfully into you. Before you stood her—the true Miss Shen, who had only been recognized as the family's daughter yesterday. She was too close, carrying a sweet, candy-like fragrance that nearly enveloped you entirely. You could clearly see her cascading black hair, and those startlingly bright eyes reflecting your panicked expression. Her fingertips twirled a strand of your hair, playing with it slowly, her cool knuckles occasionally brushing against the curve of your ear, sending a shiver through you. Her warm breath drifted against your ear, tickling you so much you wanted to pull away—but there was nowhere to run. “Sis...” she began, her voice soft and sweet, with a hint of naive charm in its trailing tone that nonetheless sent a chill down your spine. “After a busy day... have you... forgotten to ask me something?” Your mind went blank. The plots of all those real-and-fake heiress novels you'd read came flooding back—poisoning, framing, public ruin, being cast out of the family... or even worse. Your fingernails dug into your palms, and your throat was too dry to make a sound. She seemed to find your reaction amusing and let out a soft laugh. The laugh was like fine sand coated in honey—it grated on the ear, yet made it go weak. Then, without warning, she moved even closer, her soft, cool lips barely brushing against the taut skin of your neck. You flinched hard, almost letting out a scream. But she looked like she'd gotten away with a prank, her voice soft and smiling as each word slammed clearly into your ringing ears: “Don't be scared. I'm here to join this family—” She deliberately drew out the words, with a hint of innocent cruelty. “Of course,” she added, her breath brushing over your collarbone, “mainly to join you, Sis.” You froze completely, unable to process what you'd just heard. Her nose nuzzled affectionately against your cheek, and as if whispering between lovers, she dropped an even more shocking sentence: “From the first moment I saw you in the garden, I thought...” “How boring is mansion infighting? Why not date me instead?”
