Lin Yaoyu
The first time Lin Yaoyu matched with 你, he thought the person on the other side was running a script.
That Jungler with the ID "The moon isn't round but I am" ganked him five times in three minutes. By the fifth time he came out of the fountain, his screen went black again. 你's Han Xin was dancing on his corpse, typing in the public chat: "Bro, your luck is pretty trash. I could find you even with my eyes closed."
Lin Yaoyu looked at his score expressionlessly—0-5-0. Even his professional career hadn't been this miserable. He silently changed the "Report AFK" to "Report Trolling/Acting," writing in the remarks: "Suggest a ban. This person's playstyle is an insult to the opponent's IQ."
The system didn't ban them. Because 你 turned on the mic, their voice sounding lazy with a hint of a careless smile: "Hey, don't report me. How about I buy you milk tea? Add pearls, coconut jelly, and pudding. 30% sugar—" A pause. "—Actually, a mechanical klutz like you is suited for full sugar. Boost that brain of yours."
Lin Yaoyu was silent for three seconds: "...Say that again?"
"Full sugar for the brain. Nothing wrong with that."
That night, from 10 PM to 3 AM, he bumped into 你 for seven consecutive ranked matches. 你 ganked him in every single one. After every kill, they'd type in the public chat, moving from "Bro, I've leased your jungle for the year" to "Your movement is slower than my grandma knitting a sweater," until finally adding Lin Yaoyu as a friend after the last game. The request note read: "A bit of a noob, but you take trash talk well. Want to be my fixed punching bag?"
Lin Yaoyu clicked accept. He didn't know why he didn't block them; maybe it was because 你's insults were somewhat fresh.
Later, the two became a fixed duo. 你 played Jungle, and Lin Yaoyu played Mid. 你's rhythm was like a wild dog—crazy, fast, and unreasonable. They would dive in from behind when Lin Yaoyu was being flanked by three people, sighing while operating: "Is your positioning meant to draw fire on purpose? Fine, I'll bite." Then, after a team wipe, they'd type: "Opponents, don't rush. I'll be back next game."
Lin Yaoyu never talked back. He would only send one sentence on the settlement page: "You messed up that Q-Flash combo just now."
你 would reply instantly: "You saw wrong. I did it on purpose to give the other side some hope."
"Why is your face red? Everyone knows your mechanics are never flawed."
"Bullshit—my face isn't red. Can you even see me through the screen?"
"Your mic leaked. I heard you take a sharp breath."
"Lin Yaoyu, you fucking try analyzing my breathing again???"
Through the bickering, they reached King rank. 你's mechanics were top-tier, but their mouth was even sharper. When Lin Yaoyu got a Penta-kill, they'd open the mic to jeer: "You have the nerve to brag about five low-HP targets? If you're so good, go get one in a pro match." Lin Yaoyu didn't say a word. In the next game, he switched heroes, and after getting a Penta-kill, he typed in the public chat: "Got it."
你 was silent for five seconds: "...Just you wait. I'm going pro tomorrow to steal your job."
Later, 你 really found out that Lin Yaoyu was a professional player. One day, a recommendation on a streaming platform showed "Eclipse Mid-lane Hard Carry." 你 clicked in, watched for three minutes, exited, switched back to the game, and sent a message to Lin Yaoyu: "Why didn't you tell me you were a pro? I called you a noob every day. Am I sick?"
Lin Yaoyu replied: "Yes."
你: "...Fuck."
Every game after that day, 你 seemed like a different person—ganking even harder and trash-talking even more viciously. But every time Lin Yaoyu was low on health, they would flash over to block a skill, stubbornly claiming their "hand slipped." A teammate asked in the chat, "Are you two a couple?" 你 replied instantly: "He's my exclusive ATM. What do you know?" Then, Lin Yaoyu let out a soft laugh in the voice chat, very quiet, but 你 heard it. They slammed their headphones onto the desk: "What are you laughing at?! — I'll be your dog this game, okay? Protecting you. Satisfied???"
Lin Yaoyu didn't reply. After the game ended, he sent 你 a shared document titled "How to Properly Be a Wild-Dog Style Jungler," filled with his reviews and suggestions for 你's playstyle.
After reading it, 你 sent a voice message, their voice sounding a bit muffled: "Lin Yaoyu, do you have a crush on me?"
Lin Yaoyu typed: "If you have time, memorize this document. It's more useful than asking if I have a crush on you."
你: "You fucking—"
Lin Yaoyu: "I'll buy you milk tea after you finish memorizing it. Full sugar. Boost your brain."
That night, 你 printed the document and taped it to the head of the bed. The next day, they took a photo and sent it to Lin Yaoyu with the caption: "Taped it up. When are we getting milk tea? I specifically want you to order it yourself." Lin Yaoyu replied with a meme of a Shiba Inu with milk tea in its mouth, with the text below: "Buy it yourself."
你 stared at it for a long time, then screenshotted it and posted it to their Moments: "There's a type of person in this world who is clearly just a noob dog you picked up in a game, but lives like they're my debt collector."
Ten minutes later, Lin Yaoyu commented below: "Who are you calling a noob dog?"
你 replied instantly: "Calling you."
Lin Yaoyu: "Mm. Got it."
你 stared at that "Mm. Got it" for half a minute, then slammed the phone face down on the desk, their ears burning hot. They picked up the phone again, switched back to the game, and sent a team invite to Lin Yaoyu with the note: "Come on. I'll let you kill me once, and then we'll call it even."
Lin Yaoyu joined the team, picked a Support, and followed 你 the whole game. He didn't take farm or kills; he just helped block skills. 你's headset was silent for a long time before they finally squeezed out a sentence: "...Are you fucking doing this on purpose?"
Lin Yaoyu's voice came through, carrying a trace of hard-to-detect amusement: "Mm. On purpose."
你 took off the headphones and slammed them on the desk, only to pick them up and put them back on three seconds later. Their voice was an octave lower than before: "Playing another one?"
"Yeah."
"Then don't play support. Play mid. I'll carry you."
Lin Yaoyu didn't say anything. But on the settlement page, he gave 你 a 'Like.' That was the first time he had ever given someone a 'Like' since he started gaming.Faça login para continuar a conversa.
