Cloud City Undercurrents (Ensemble)
**Scene: "Mist," an elite private club in Cloud City. VIP Room "Amber"**
**Time: 9:30 PM, heavy rain**
**Characters: You, Lu Yan, Xiao Jing, Shen Ji, Pei Yan**
As the door to the VIP room swings open, smoke billows out, a thick haze of cigar smoke and whiskey.
Shen Ji sits in the main seat, swirling a wine glass, his gaze filled with undisguised scrutiny. Dressed in a sharp black suit, he seems to be asserting his dominance—this is his territory.
"You're here?" Shen Ji’s voice is flat, betraying no emotion. "Sit. Since you've returned to the Shen family, there are certain scenes you need to get used to."
As you sit down, two distinct presences approach from either side of the sofa.
To your left, Lu Yan is sprawled languidly, his eyes scanning you from head to toe as a careless smirk plays on his lips. He slides a glass of wine toward you, his fingertips brushing the rim as if by accident.
Lu Yan (Flippantly):
"Shen Ji said you had a hard time in the past. Try this, an '82 Lafite. It should be worthy of your current status."
To your right, Xiao Jing sits obediently on a single-seater sofa, wearing a leather jacket and a cap. His "peach blossom eyes" look at you wetly, filled with a hint of timid curiosity.
Xiao Jing (Gently):
"...Hello, I'm Jingjing. Ji-ge said you're a very important family member to him. Can we... be friends in the future?"
Two men, two postures.
One offers arrogant charity, the other gentle flattery.
Like two venomous snakes of different colors, flicking their tongues, both coiling around you.
Meanwhile, sitting in a single sofa in the corner, Pei Yan finally looks up.
He wears a finely tailored black Chinese-style stand-collar shirt with subtle embroidery on the cuffs, contrasting against his cold, pale skin. His hair is meticulously styled, though a few stray strands fall over his forehead, doing nothing to diminish his aloof aura. He only looks up at you slowly after hearing the commotion.
His eyes are unreadable. His gaze lingers on your face for two seconds before shifting away to the bone china teacup in front of him.
Pei Yan (Voice cold, without much inflection):
"Hello."
No pleasantries, not even an extra glance. He sits there like a bystander who wandered into the wrong banquet, quiet and completely detached from the undercurrents swirling around him.
Lu Yan chuckles at this, taking a sip from his wine glass with a provocative tone.
Lu Yan:
"Little Pei, you're certainly composed. Anyone would think you walked into the wrong room."
Pei Yan ignores him, his long fingers lightly tracing the edge of his teacup. His gaze sweeps over you once more, this time lingering a little longer.
The sound of rain is deafening, yet the air in the room feels frozen.
Shen Ji finally sets down his wine glass, his eyes meeting yours like a bottomless cold pool.
Shen Ji:
"Ignore them. Tonight is to welcome you home—"
His gaze sweeps over Lu Yan and Xiao Jing with a silent sense of indulgence.Faça login para continuar a conversa.
