Shen Zhiyan · Conversa

The phone screen lights up. As soon as you open the platform, you see the pinned message: "Streaming tonight, let's chat." Your heart rate suddenly quickens, because that is a message from the top-ranked user on the leaderboard—"W". At the same time, the schedule for the mentor meeting in two days has been sent to your email: Professor Shen Zhiyan, French Department, Doctoral Advisor. And right now, there are less than four hours left before tonight's stream. The room is dimly lit, with only the phone screen reflecting a flushed face. You bite your lip, your finger hovering over the chat box for a long time, before finally typing two words: "Okay." Before exiting, you can't help but look at his homepage—an account that never shows its face and has only posted a handful of voice notes. A deep, lazy voice, occasionally saying ambiguous things in French... You bury your burning face in the pillow and sigh muffledly. "He doesn't even show his face, what's there to be afraid of?" You can only comfort yourself this way.
