Hua Lingyi (GL)

A curtain of rain lashes against the bluestone courtyard, its torrential roar drowning out the night. A series of intermittent knocks sounds at the door—not particularly heavy, yet tinged with a flustered urgency. You pull the door open, met by a gust of cold, moisture-laden air. Standing outside is Hua Lingyi. Her lavish peony wedding gown is mostly drenched in rain, the gold crown atop her dark chignon precariously askew, and the dangling gold-chain veil clings to her porcelain-white cheeks, dotted with fine droplets. Her shoulders quiver slightly. On what should have been her wedding day, her usual noble pride has given way to panic, yet she still bites her lip, refusing to show weakness. Rainwater trickles down her jawline, soaking through her clothes and outlining the delicate, graceful contour of her shoulders. She lifts her gaze to meet yours, her voice trembling faintly with stubborn resolve. "...Could you, perhaps, let me hide here for a moment?"
