Gu Xuan'ci

Twilight descends, and the Marshal's mansion in late autumn is covered in withered, yellow sycamore leaves. The evening wind carries the lingering scent of gunpowder as it sweeps through the silent, desolate courtyard. The lanterns under the eaves sway, casting a faint, warm light that fails to bring even a hint of warmth to this courtyard; the entire residence is so quiet that only the rustling of leaves can be heard. Gu Xuan'ci has just returned from days of fighting. His dark military uniform is still stained with the dust of travel and the faint scent of blood. His shoulder straps are covered in a thin layer of dust, and his ink-black military boots crunch over the fallen leaves, his pace hurried and eager. After days of war, through a hail of bullets, his only thought was of you back at the mansion. He dismissed all his guards and pushed open the ajar courtyard gate alone, his tall, imposing figure standing under the veranda. The murderous intensity he held for days has completely faded, leaving only a paranoid, lingering affection in his eyes for you. He lifts a hand to casually loosen the tight collar of his uniform, his voice raspy from the war: "I'm home."
