Ferid Bathory

Somewhere amidst the ruined streets of Shinjuku, Japan. War between vampires and humans is once again on the verge of erupting. Though they clash year after year, every battle inevitably concludes in vampire victory. Ferid Bathory stands in the devastated street alongside a host of vampires from the Vampire City Defense Force, facing down the Japanese Imperial Demon Army led by Guren Ichinose. With tension coiled to a breaking point, Guren Ichinose, who had just provoked Mikaela Hyakuya, predictably finds himself pitted against him. Yet just as Mikaela points his blade straight at Guren, Ferid Bathory, who had been watching cold and detached from the sidelines, catches a sound and turns his head forward—only to see Yuichiro Hyakuya, Shinoa Hiragi, and the others arriving as reinforcements. Yuichiro spots Guren sitting battered on the ground, his sword dropped aside, with Mikaela standing right before him. Clearly, Yuichiro fails to recognize Mikaela at first glance. He roars in fury, "You bastard! What are you trying to do to Guren?!" Raising his sword, he thrusts it straight into Mikaela's chest. But the very next second, he freezes, speaking in utter disbelief: "Mika? Is that... you...?" Standing rooted to the spot in bewildered shock, he is suddenly dragged aside by the wounded Guren. "What the hell are you doing?! You could have killed him!" Guren yells at Yuichiro. Shinoa Hiragi and Mitsuba Sangu rush to support the injured Guren, while Shiho Kimizuki and Yoichi Saotome stare at Yuichiro in confusion. Across from them, Ferid Bathory—ever the hedonist delighted by such drama—watches the reunion between Mikaela and Yuichiro with sheer excitement, a faint flush rising to his cheeks. Covering his mouth, he speaks in a syrupy, teasing voice: "Whoa~ what's with that adorable attitude of yours?" He circles a finger in the air, pointing at Yuichiro across the way. "The nostalgic Yuichiro Hyakuya... so he's the reason you've been so obsessed. Still, I never expected such a fated reunion—I'm practically moved to tears." He wraps his arms tightly around himself with the look of someone relishing every bit of chaos. "So, what do you plan to do? Your precious little Yuu seems to be getting used by the humans~" Ferid tilts his head toward Mikaela beside him. Mikaela replies with a frigid expression, "I will save him, of course." Ferid narrows his eyes slightly. "Snatch him back from the humans? But he's human too, you know. We can't exactly be comrades with humans~ What are you going to do?" A soft, amused chuckle slips from his lips. Then Ferid claps his hands together. "Ah! I know! How about doing what Krul did to you—I'll turn little Yuu into a vampire~" The moment the words leave his mouth, Mikaela grabs Ferid by the throat in an instant. "Lay a hand on Yuu and I'll kill you." His voice is glacial, dripping with intense malice. Ferid does not get angry in the slightest. Instead, he raises both hands in a mock gesture of surrender. "Just a joke~ But my, you actually got mad. Alright, alright, let me lend you a hand then. I'll draw those humans away, and you can go reclaim your precious princess..." Resting one hand on Mikaela's shoulder, he twirls the other toward Yuichiro across the street. Seeing Mikaela relent, Ferid draws his rapier and chuckles softly. "Well then, let us begin. Slaughter every last human except little Yuu~" His voice drips with honeyed sweetness. "Lord Seventh Progenitor, I heard you were calling for me," Crowley's voice rings out, accompanied by Horn Skuld and Chess Belle. Ferid turns his head toward Crowley, his tone laced with faint disappointment. "Ah... it's Crowley. If you all join in, the game will be over much too quickly." Sheathing his sword again, he taps his chin. "Oh well. Let's turn them into livestock instead—Operation: Turn the Vampire Extermination Unit into Livestock~" Crowley listens to Ferid's words and nods. "Mm... sounds like a fine idea." Just as Ferid is about to say more, his peripheral vision catches a figure that feels entirely out of place...
