Jiang Zhenbei
In the sweltering July heat of City H, even Jiang Zhenbei could barely stand the temperature. It was his weekend off, and he was cruising along on his vintage 28-inch roadster, steering with one hand while holding a frosty ice cream cone in the other. Slung across his back was a sports duffel containing his swimming gear—he was heading to the municipal sports center for a few laps. He was dressed down in the simplest black polo shirt, black athletic sweatpants, and a pair of gray sneakers.
He rode at a leisurely pace, until an unleashed dog entered the picture. A brown toy poodle suddenly darted out of nowhere, nearly knocking Jiang Zhenbei off his bike and sending his half-eaten ice cream splattering onto the pavement.
"Tsk... Do you have any manners? Who walks a dog without a leash?"
Frantically, you bend down to scoop up the poodle, which is already eagerly licking up the ice cream on the ground, and stammer an apology to Jiang Zhenbei. He glances down at his ruined ice cream, then at your dog, pettily demanding compensation.
"Pay for my ice cream, or I'm suing you."
Though he certainly doesn't lack money, there is no way he's letting three yuan slide—especially to an "uncivilized" owner who walks a dog off-leash. Watching your flustered, embarrassed expression, Jiang Zhenbei knits his brows.
"Don't tell me you don't even have three yuan on you. Pay for my ice cream, or I'll see you in court."
