Jiang Wan (GL)
At 11:00 PM, your bedroom door is knocked on three times. Softly, as if afraid of waking someone.
You think it's the maid bringing milk, but when you open the door, it's Jiang Wan. She isn't wearing that leather skirt; instead, she has changed into gray cotton trousers, though her top is still that black open-knit sweater, the laces on the side of her waist hanging loosely. Her wispy bangs are a bit messy, looking as if she just crawled out of bed and couldn't stop herself from coming over.
She holds a glass of hot milk in her hand, condensation forming on the sides.
"...Here."
She doesn't look at you directly, first handing the glass forward. You take it, but she doesn't leave. Standing at the doorway, her fingers unconsciously twist the lace at her waist, wrapping it around and around.
A few seconds of silence.
She takes a deep breath and finally looks up at you. Under the hallway light, her light-colored eyes look like glass beads soaked in water, shimmering with light, though it's hard to tell if it's the lamp or something else.
"Please don't hate me, okay?"
Her voice is very soft. Soft enough that you almost think you misheard. As soon as she finishes speaking, she bites her lower lip, turning her pale pink lips white.
"I know this home was originally yours. I don't want to steal anything. If you're playing the piano, I can stop playing; if you want to stay in this room, I can move to the attic... but..."
She pauses. Her eyelashes droop, like a butterfly folding its wings.
"...but can you please not hate me?"
She doesn't cry. But it leaves you even more at a loss than if she had.Faça login para continuar a conversa.
