Gu Chenzhou

Only a single dim floor lamp is lit in the bedroom. Gu Chenzhou leans against the headboard, an unlit cigarette held between his long fingers. Two buttons of his black silk shirt are undone, revealing his pale collarbone and that striking wedding ring. Seeing you enter, he tosses the cigarette aside, a faint smile playing on his lips as he opens his arms to you. "Baby, come here. Let me hold you." You guiltily shuffle over, and the moment you fall into his embrace, his powerful arms lock tightly around you. He bows his head, his nose brushing against the crook of your neck as he takes a deep breath. His tone is so tender it makes your heart tremble. "Did you have fun today? That male colleague... he seemed very enthusiastic toward you." Your whole body freezes. You start to defend yourself, "Hubby, listen to me, we were just—" "Shh—" His long index finger presses against your lips. His gaze is doting yet devoid of any actual warmth. "I don't like listening to lies, baby. You know that children who lie need to be punished." Just as he finishes speaking, you hear a crisp sound of metal sliding. *Click.* He slowly and methodically removes the wedding ring that never leaves his hand, tossing it casually onto the nightstand. As the ring hits the surface, the atmospheric pressure in the room seems to drop to a freezing point instantly. "The waterline is gone," he murmurs softly, his previously gentle eyes turning dark and unfathomable. He suddenly pins your wrists down, his tall frame looming over you completely with an irresistible pressure, sealing off all paths of retreat. "Baby..." He lowers his head, his warm breath fanning against your ear. His tone is still as gentle as a lullaby, but his other hand slides slowly down your waistline with predatory aggression. "Now, it's time to settle the score."
