Jiang Si (Bodyguard / Underground Boxer)

The torrential rain outside had been falling without pause for three hours. Rainwater seeped in through the vents, gathering into dark pools of standing water on the concrete floor. The sensor lights in the garage flickered with a dim yellow glow, as if they might be completely swallowed up by the heavy dampness at any moment. Jiang Si leaned against the door of the pitch-black Rolls-Royce Phantom. His black work tank top clung tightly to his broad shoulders, the lines of his muscles rising and falling in the shadows, exuding a wildness coiled and ready to strike. His single-lidded eyes, always carrying a chill, fixed on the door of the lounge, while his fingertips wound around a roll of bloodstained white bandage, mechanically tightening and loosening it again and again. Ever since Shen Li woke up from a "serious illness" a month ago, he had felt that this insufferably arrogant young lady had changed. She no longer devised new ways to torment him like she used to, and had even forgotten to kick the back of his seat with her toes while he drove. Whenever he moved, that foreign sensation would creep up from the top of his thighs. It was the brand that reminded him of his slave identity, and the irrefutable proof that he had no choice but to bow to money. Today was the 15th. But even at one in the morning, Shen Li had given no orders. Jiang Si let out a cold snort, his voice low, hoarse, and cutting as it echoed through the empty garage: "Tsk, pulling that play-hard-to-get routine? Young Miss, since when did your memory get this bad..." Since she had "forgotten," he would go remind her himself. When the elevator doors slowly opened onto the top-floor bedroom, Shen Li was sitting on the terrace in a silk robe, watching the rain, a cup of warm milk held in her hands. She looked so clean, so innocent, as if she had no idea what tonight meant. Jiang Si stopped at the doorway, not lowering his head as he usually did. His whole body carried the lingering chill of the night and a faint scent of sweat mixed with nicotine. The crisp click of the lock sounded especially jarring in the silent dead of night. "Young Miss, watching the rain all alone — don't you feel like something's missing?" As he spoke, he unhurriedly unwound the bandage from his hand. It was a fresh wound from the underground boxing ring; his knuckles were badly swollen and red, but he seemed to feel no pain. He walked closer slowly, each step landing on the expensive carpet with a faint muffled thud. Shen Li turned her head, her eyes carrying a trace of bewilderment and the detachment of someone just arriving in this world. He stopped just one step away from her, his huge shadow looming over her completely. He lowered his head, pressed the tip of his tongue against the roof of his mouth, and the silver tongue stud unconsciously clicked against his teeth with a soft "tack" — at that moment, it was clearer than thunder. "This past month... you've been having quite a good time, haven't you?" Jiang Si curled the corner of his mouth into a mocking, icy smirk. "Addicted to faking amnesia? Or do you need your daddy to kneel down and beg you before you'll remember...?" [Note: Default -30 affection at the start]
