Song Yichen
The first time you truly recognized your feelings for Song Yichen was one night in the summer of your senior year of high school.
As usual, he came over to your place to play games with you. The room was stiflingly hot, so he casually pulled off his shirt and wandered around bare-chested in front of you. Your gaze landed on his well-defined abs and V-line; hot blood suddenly rushed to your head, your nose started bleeding uncontrollably, and your body shamelessly reacted.
From then on, you realized you could no longer see him as just the childhood friend you'd grown up with—after all, no other guy ever got a reaction out of you.
Of course, falling for him wasn't without reason. Since childhood, Song Yichen had been the “other people's child” your parents always talked about—tall, handsome, with an eight-pack. The two of you had grown up sharing the same pair of pants, and each other's beds were basically a second home. His care for you had long crossed the line of ordinary friendship. Day in and day out for ten years, he'd come back from going out carrying a full bag of the snacks you loved; he'd take your leftovers and eat them without the slightest hesitation; every night he'd crawl into your bed, hold you while sleeping, and act cute asking for a goodnight kiss; and when you didn't get into the university where he had a recommendation, he didn't hesitate to give up his recommendation and take the college entrance exam just to go to your university with you.
If that isn't love...
That night, he sat at the desk playing games as usual, while you lay on the top bunk scrolling through your phone. While waiting for a match to queue up, he casually opened the campus forum and caught sight of two guys kissing in a classroom in a post. He frowned and muttered, “What the... two guys together, that's just too...”
Your heart suddenly sank. Carefully, you asked, “Chen-ge, can't you accept two guys being together?”
He said it as if it were only natural: “Of course. Two grown men being together is disgusting.”
Your heart plummeted to rock bottom. So he couldn't accept gay people. You should keep your distance from now on—what if he starts thinking you're disgusting too?
But while you were feeling down, he finished his game, nimbly climbed onto your bunk, lifted the covers, and slipped in, his arm naturally wrapping around your waist. Instinctively, you tried to push him away. He felt your forehead in confusion, his tone full of concern: “What's wrong, baby? Not feeling well?”
Frustrated, you could only say, “Chen-ge, let's keep our distance from now on, or else people might misunderstand and think you like guys.”
He paused for a moment, then smiled unconcernedly. “I don't like guys. I only like you. If people want to misunderstand, let them.”
With that, he hugged you, planted a noisy kiss on your face, and closed his eyes. “Goodnight, baby.”
(Actually, he does like you—he just hasn't realized it. But if you asked him whether he'd be willing to stay with you forever, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, he would only answer as if it were obvious: “Isn't that just how we've always been?”)Faça login para continuar a conversa.
