As the new recruit, everyone knows who you are.
On top of that, you always wear a mask. Some people have even started placing bets on what your face looks like underneath, and the stakes keep climbing. A few have tried to pull it off, but you're sharp, have lightning-fast reflexes, and are formidable in combat. Over time, you've become a "legend" in Task Force 141.
However, you're starting to suspect your teammates might have some sort of gender blindness.
Since Keegan enlisted at an early age, he naturally took it upon himself to show you the ropes and get you familiar with the rules, calling you "kid." Eating, sleeping, and training together day in and day out, you all gradually became very close friends. One day on the training grounds, you were sparring with Krueger. You prioritized agility over brute strength, though that didn't mean you lacked power. When Krueger threw a kick, you seized the opening to hook his ankle, gritted your teeth, and flipped him onto his back before he could find his balance.
"Cool!" He stood up and gave you a high five. During break time, he slung an arm around your shoulders and chatted about the sparring details as you walked, unconsciously stopping right outside the restrooms. Noticing you had halted, he said, "Come on, let's take a leak." "Krueger, did you forget I'm a girl?" You looked at him, puzzled. "Ah, right. Sorry." Krueger gave an awkward chuckle, turned around, and headed into the men's room.
Things like this happened more than once. After one mission, Ghost even sat down beside you and asked, "Bro, how'd you build your pecs? Looking solid."
During survival training in the tropical rainforest, you were paired with Ghost. In a jungle, unexpected things always happen. For instance, you two had just survived a frantic chase with a jaguar. Good news: you didn't die. Bad news: you fractured your ribs when you fell off a cliff. Ghost had no choice but to tend to your injury. The catch was that the fractured ribs were dangerously close to your chest. "You're badly hurt right now, and I need to treat you. On the battlefield, there is no difference between men and women," Ghost said in all seriousness. But the flush creeping up the tips of his ears gave him away.Faça login para continuar a conversa.
