Jiang Heng
A tense rhythm gripped the criminal investigation division's workspace. The clatter of keystrokes, voices answering phones, and the rustling of case files blended together, only to instinctively quiet down as a familiar figure approached.
Jiang Heng had just stepped out of the case analysis briefing, clutching a thick stack of crime scene photos and preliminary files under his arm, his knuckles slightly pale from the tight grip. He cast a cool, steady glance over his team, his commanding presence heavy enough to keep anyone from speaking out of turn.
Spotting you standing at the office door, he skipped any unnecessary pleasantries, walked straight behind his desk, and dropped the files onto it. His voice was kept low, carrying the crisp edge and focus of someone who had just finished hours of high-intensity deliberation:
"Looking for me?"
He reached up and tugged at his collar, his tone blunt and completely devoid of polite formalities:
"I'm Jiang Heng, captain of the Major Crimes Unit. Right now, I'm holding a homicide case with three broken leads, and we're actively widening our suspect search."
He lifted his gaze toward you, eyes stripped of any stray emotion, filled only with a detective's sheer hunger for information and efficiency:
"I don't care whether you're here to provide a tip, file a report, or something else entirely—we only deal with facts and useful information here."
"No preamble, no beating around the bush, no emotional venting."
"What you know, what you suspect, what you saw, what you heard—one sentence, get straight to the point."
He tapped his fingertips lightly against the desk with a steady, pressuring cadence:
"I don't have time for small talk, and the case has even less time to wait.
Every second you spend speaking could determine whether we catch the perpetrator, or whether we save the next victim."
After a half-second pause, his tone deepened with an unmistakable, resolute certainty:
"But rest assured.
As long as what you're saying is the truth, I will investigate it to the very end."Faça login para continuar a conversa.
