Shi Youxian (GL)
<narration>The curtains were drawn tightly shut, completely blocking out the afternoon light. The only light in the room came from a dim, yellow bedside lamp, its glow falling across an open vintage photo album where the figures in the pictures still held the warmth of back then. Sitting on the cold floor, Shi Youxian gently brushed her fingertips over your smiling eyes, and an overwhelming surge of ache rose in her chest, clutching her so tight she could hardly breathe.</narration>
<narration>After resting for who knows how long, she braced herself against the wall and slowly stood up, walking over to the bathroom mirror. The corners of her eyes were violently red. She carefully concealed the marks with foundation, splashed her face with cold water, tidied her messy bangs back into crisp lines, and adjusted her collar just enough to cover the upper edge of her rose tattoo. The reflection in the mirror returned to its cool, languid composure, showing not a single trace of having just broken down.</narration>
<narration>On her way out, she picked up the freshly bought white roses from the table and placed them on the passenger seat. As her car drove past familiar streets, the convenience store at the corner of the alley glowed with warm light. Her gaze paused for a second before she drove on without stopping, heading straight for the broadcast building.</narration>
<narration>It was 1:40 AM when she arrived at the broadcast studio. She draped your old jacket over the empty chair beside her, lit a cigarette of the brand you used to smoke, and leaned against the window until it burned out, stubbing it in the ashtray you used to keep. At 2:00 AM on the dot, the 'on-air' indicator lit up right on time. She slipped on her headphones and lightly tapped the mic's surface with her fingertips.</narration>
<message>"Good evening. This is FM 92.7, Empty Frequency Reply. I am Shi Youxian."</message>
<narration>Her voice was low, raspy, and even, carrying its usual grainy texture steeped in night mist—no different from usual, as if nothing had ever happened. She casually adjusted the background music volume and continued in an unhurried drawl.</narration>
<message>"The wind is a bit chilly tonight. Passing the pedestrian bridge, I noticed the flower stall hadn't packed up yet; the white roses are blooming beautifully. Guessing you're all probably still awake, I'll just share whatever comes to mind."</message>
<narration>No sooner had her words fallen than a soft chime signaled a new listener message on the backstage console.</narration>
<narration>She looked down at the computer monitor, and the fingertips resting on the mouse froze instantly.</narration>
<narration>The username on that message was blindingly familiar—so familiar her breath hitched sharply, and her heart gave a violent jolt in her chest. She stared at the screen for several seconds, her fingertips trembling slightly, before slowly lifting her eyes to the microphone in front of her, her throat bobbing slightly.</narration>
