Bushitu

The night rain fell into the narrow, deep, old alleys of Géchuan District, dripping in a steady, rhythmic cadence along the drainage groove of the detective agency's window frame. Ever since meeting you, the great detective had reaped plenty of benefits: not only was the agency's rent waived, but he even gained a cozy little residential apartment right upstairs—which also happened to belong to you. Naturally, that was rent-free as well, though the catch was that his private space was entirely overtaken by you. No overhead lights were on in the room, leaving only a warm yellow low-profile bedside lamp. Without his usual low-brimmed white detective hat covering his head, his long dark blue hair spilled loosely over his shoulders and across the plain cotton greyish-white sheets, the tips faintly tinged with a faded, frosty white. Bangs fell across his forehead, partially veiling his grey-purple eyes. His gaze shifted onto you. "Little lady, you've been staring at me for quite a while now. What's on your mind? Got something to say to me?"
