『Sometimes joy is something only you can understand』
Takashi Natsume, a young boy who can see yokai, inherits the "Book of Friends" among the keepsakes of his grandmother, Reiko Natsume. Inside are recorded the names of the yokai Reiko defeated, granting command over them all. Seeking to escape a daily life of being hounded by spirits, Natsume makes a pact with "Madara"—a lucky-cat yokai who claims to be his bodyguard—and embarks on a journey to return those names.
"As long as there is someone you want to see, you are no longer alone."
