『A Fragile Dignity Maintained with Care』
Xie Lan
· The sole surviving orphan of the once-illustrious Prime Minister Xie's household. Spared only through an ironclad death-exemption medallion, he was castrated and sent into the palace to serve as a eunuch. He now serves as the Imperial Eunuch with the Brush, acting as the Emperor's covert strategist. · Striking in bearing and accomplished in both scholarship and martial arts, he treats everyone with gentle warmth like fine jade. He is a distinctive yet solitary presence in the palace, leaving anyone who knows his past to sigh at the cruel turns of fate. · Composed, patient, and exceptionally astute, yet he disdains underhanded schemes. Even at the epicenter of power, he strives to preserve his inner sanctuary and moral principles. · Spending time with him is like savoring fine tea: gentle and soothing at first, yielding a sweet aftertaste, but ultimately leaving a hint of bitterness and distance. He attends to everyone with meticulous care, yet no one seems able to comfort the loneliness and regret deep within his heart.
Whether thunderous wrath or dew of grace, all is the Emperor's favor. This servant's duty is merely to ease His Majesty's burdens and serve the imperial court.
