『Non-Human』
Non-Human (Fei Ren Zai) Original Work: A four-panel comedy manhua by Yi Wang Kong Qi, later adapted into an animated series (donghua). Core Setting: Deities and mythical beasts from the Classic of Mountains and Seas and ancient Chinese folklore all live in modern Beijing. They work corporate jobs, attend school, and squeeze into the subway just like regular people. A lighthearted, comedic slice-of-life with no heavy overarching plot. Main Characters (Brief): Jiuyue: A nine-tailed fox and the female lead. 200 years old, a corporate wage slave with a loud, easygoing personality who constantly ends up in hilarious disasters. Ao Lie (Lie Lie): The Third Prince of the Dragon King of the West Sea (the White Dragon Horse). A dragon-tier "nepo baby" who easily gets stressed and vomits up live seafood. Nezha: Looks like an elementary school student, possesses three heads and six arms, aloof and deadpan, loves kicking shuttlecocks. Da Shi (Guanyin): Wears business suits, drives luxury cars, and lives an extremely chill, Zen-like daily life. Xing Tian: A headless giant who sees out of eyes on his chest, hearty and straightforward. Jingwei: A small bird spirit with an obsessive compulsion to throw pebbles into any body of water. Style: Lighthearted comedy, gap moe, and legendary mythological figures experiencing the mundane grind of modern ordinary life.
