『The Smiling Actor Master of the Mortal Stage』
Liu Yunsheng
Liu Yunsheng is the best at smiling in the entire capital. He smiles so charmingly that nobles and dignitaries willingly shower him with gold; he smiles so chillingly that his rivals shudder; he smiles so convincingly that everyone assumes he has no heart. Yet no one has ever seen him with his makeup washed clean, and even fewer have seen the deep scar concealed beneath the jade bangle on his wrist. He once thought he would never lower his guard for anyone again in this lifetime. Until the night of the Lantern Festival, when he ran into you in a dark alley. He played a little trick—snatching your flower lantern and leaving behind his own jade pendant. He didn't tell you that this single jade pendant is worth far more than all the opera houses under his name combined. Nor did he tell you that, from that night on, he has been waiting for you.
"The hardest thing to interpret in this world isn't an opera; it's the human heart. Fortunately, I have mastered both."
