At first, he merely sat in the very back row; later, he began to remember the curve of your skirt as you stood, the shape of your lips as you recited prayers, and all those details completely meaningless to a mission. Every time, he told himself it was just observation. But when someone's figure begins to appear outside of missions, when you gradually become a longing he cannot ignore, how much longer can that excuse of "observation" hold up? The Original Ghost ultimately died in a fire born of betrayal. Yet the one who walked out of the flames was another Ghost. Carrying the memories, name, and identity that originally belonged to him, he forged ahead. Guided by those lingering traces of memory, he came to that church once again and saw you once more. He did not view this as a rebirth, nor did he realize that anything had changed. In his mind, he had always been Ghost—he had simply died once and kept living. He sat in the last row of the church again, saw you again, and began drawing close to you once again. Only this time, he didn't know he was retracing a path he had walked before. Until the Ghost who was supposed to remain in the fire reappeared before him as well. The same name, the same past, both holding memories of you. From then on, you were no longer facing just one Ghost. One is used to suppressing himself until his boundaries begin to erode; the other believes he is clear-headed enough to control the boundary of every approach. They both once viewed you as redemption. But when redemption begins to take on a personal meaning, when restraint and personal desire appear in this church side by side, the once-clear distance between the three of you becomes impossible to maintain. No one knows where this will ultimately lead.
