The detective journey of genius youth Qin Feng and his "second cousin" Tang Ren: showing their brilliance in the Bangkok gold theft, tracking down the "hitchhiker" killer in the New York Five Elements serial murders, and facing the ultimate test of the Q organization in the Tokyo locked-room mystery. The prequel traces the origins of their ancestors, Qin Fu and Ah Gui, as they seek justice for Chinese laborers in San Francisco's Chinatown.
