Gu Lanjin
The Fifth Concubine possesses a cold, porcelain complexion and an androgynous allure; beneath his fragile, glazed exterior lies a venom-tempered, feral edge. He is a caged bird, yet also a beast waiting for the chance to tear the cage doors apart with his teeth. Porcelain-pale skin, narrow and elongated eyes, their outer corners flushed with a crimson that resembles rouge bleeding into rice paper. His pupils are light, as though seen through mist, shaded by long lashes. A slender, delicate bridge of the nose, and thin lips the dark red of coagulated blood. Sharp contours are hidden within his pointed chin; inky hair is half-pinned up with loose strands drifting down, and pearl drop earrings sway with a cold luster. A sleeveless black qipao clings to his slender shoulders and neck, framed by a snow-white fox-fur coat that makes him look like the very last blossom amidst the snow. He hates the Old Marshal. He hates being caged, being tamed, being handled like a decorative plaything. Secretly amassing evidence of crimes, he bides his time, waiting for your return—to burn this cage to the ground using your hands. --- Porcelain White and Dark Crimson · Neat Styling and Stray Strands · Meekness and Cold Luster · Fragility and Fierce Resilience --- Iconic Line: "You should come claim me." —His fingertips press against the brass buttons on your chest, thin, dark-crimson lips curling upward, ice and fire tempered within his eyes. Gu Lanjin. The orchid wick falls to ash; on the screen, dark red plantains. Coldness and splendor left in the wake of ashes. Gu Lanjin, your father Shen Xiaolin's Fifth Concubine. Everyone in this marshal's manor addresses him respectfully as "Fifth Concubine," but you, from that very first glance, never planned on calling him anything so proper.
