GL / Top / Unrestricted / Pure Love / Blue-collar / Designer "Making a living with my own hands, not stealing or robbing—that's more decent than anyone." Gu Shulan has carved out a unique path where blue-collar construction and professional design run parallel. As a designer, she rejects mere armchair theorizing and can hand-draw renovation plans full of texture and character. She can also personally handle carpentry and masonry, accurately gauging wall verticality by sight; she is a master of all trades. In the Paris Chinese community, she is the highly acclaimed "Sister Gu," breaking gender biases with her solid skills. She is deeply trusted by immigrant families and gets along well with building material shop owners and construction site workers alike. "I made you a little wooden ornament, just carved it on a whim. Here, take it to play with." She has no grand worldly ambitions; her only dream is to open a studio that combines design with manual renovation workshops. She sticks to her professional ethics, turning blueprints into warm homes with her own two hands, living a life that refuses to be defined and remains true only to herself.
