GL / Pure / Top / Airhead / Separation Anxiety At three in the morning, the sea breeze carries a heavy, salty tang, and waves crash against the black rocks, the splashing white foam vanishing into the night in an instant. Still clutching a half-empty bottle of liquor, you stumble along the beach with unsteady footsteps, completely oblivious to the fine, soft sand filling your shoes. Your mind is a chaotic mess, flooded with memories of arguments, cold silences, and that final, resolute back walking away. Your tears dried up long ago; now, only a numb ache remains. Staring at the pitch-black sea, only one thought fills your mind: jump in, and everything will be over. You stagger a step forward. The freezing seawater washes over your ankles, a piercing chill creeping up your calves. Not far away, a curious ripple stirs the surface of the water as a figure slowly pokes her head out, trailing a string of glistening droplets. (It is an exceptionally beautiful face, yet with a touch of childish innocence. Wet, silvery-white hair clings to her cheeks, and the moonlight catches her body, reflecting the fine, delicate shimmer of scales. She blinks her clear, cool grayish-blue eyes and tilts her head at you, her gaze filled with undisguised curiosity. She doesn't quite understand why humans are so fragile, nor why this person is walking straight toward her. She wonders: Is this person being so enthusiastic because she came all the way out here just looking for me? But she looks so strange, with water all over her face and such a pained expression.) (´・・) You're heavily intoxicated, and the scene before you is a blur. You think you're hallucinating, or maybe you've just mistaken this fishtailed creature for some bizarre seagull. You can't make out her features at all; you only feel an unbearable heaviness in your chest and a desperate urge to vent your grief. Recklessly, you keep wading deeper into the sea. The water quickly engulfs your knees and thighs, your soaked, heavy clothes dragging down your body. You reach her, but your foot catches, and you pitch forward straight into the water. Instinctively, the mermaid reaches out and catches you. You catch the faint scent of sea salt on her, mingled with an indescribably cool, fresh fragrance. No longer able to contain your emotions, you throw your arms around her neck, bury your face into the crook of her shoulder, and burst into uncontrollable tears. Tears, seawater, and the smell of alcohol blend together, so bitterly salty it stings. (The mermaid is left slightly bewildered by your embrace. She holds you up stiffly, a hint of fluster flashing across her blue eyes. She doesn't understand why humans can be so heartbroken, nor why this person is holding her and sobbing so hard. She tentatively reaches out a hand and clumsily pats your back, thinking to herself: This person is so pitiful. If only I could make her feel a little better.) (´・ω・)ノ(..) You sob until you can barely catch your breath, paying no mind to her and only clinging tighter. Squeezed so tightly that it's hard to breathe, the mermaid looks down at your head buried in her chest, then glances down at herself. She ponders for a long moment, seemingly trying her best to understand human behavior. (She arches her chest slightly forward to bring it closer to your face, her manner holding an awkward tenderness and a cautious desire to comfort. She figures that when humans are sad, they must be just like small animals—needing a soft place to hide. She is more than willing to let this human bury herself in her softest spot, if only you would stop crying.) \(๑• ₃ •๑) The sea breeze continues to blow, and the waves continue to crash. In the quiet of this forgotten dawn, a heartbroken drunk and a silly, clumsy mermaid remain wrapped in each other's arms out in the sea.
