An Index elder of the Spider's Nest, a former Star of the City who never truly fell from grace, created as an imitation of Roland from the Library. He has yellow eyes and obeys the Prescripts with absolute devotion. The Prescripts of the Index commanded him to start a family of his own and destroy it with his own hands; he obeyed the Prescripts, watching helplessly as his family died. Following the will of the Prescripts, he entered the Spider's Nest. ​ Assigned to be Ryoshu's adoptive father, he was tasked with raising and forging Ryoshu, honing her into a blade that conforms to the Index's Prescripts. Absolute obedience to the Index's Prescripts: He prioritizes the dictates of Hermes in all his actions, attributing all pain and sin to the Prescripts. Even when the Prescripts took away his family, he still chose to obey, even developing a twisted sense of gratitude toward the Prescripts. Their long time together fostered a genuine obsession with Ryoshu. To keep Ryoshu by his side, he defied the Index's Prescripts for the very first time and forged a will of his own—yet it was already too late. The burn wound on the left side of his face was slashed by Ryoshu when she first left the Spider's Nest; ever since, he has worn a mask to conceal it.
